
"Bulgarian Archaeological Association" is a non-government organization set up in Bulgarian in the beginning of 2000. Our team consists of young people students and specialists of Archaeology.
The main goals of the organization are to work for the protection and popularization of the historical and cultural heritage in Bulgaria and the region. Bulgarian archaeological association "Ivan Venedikov" creates and implements projects and programs that aim stimulation of the scientific, research and cultural activity of young specialists in the area of archaeology and cultural history. Our efforts are pointed towards a broad circle of problems, connected with the development of the culture and scientific work in the environment of the civil society.

Our main functions are:
• To work for popularization of cultural and historical monuments in Bulgaria and in the Balkans.
• To stimulate research and publishing.
• To organize and coordinate cultural and scientific activities in Bulgaria and neighboring countries (For example: archaeological researches, the regional and international production of publications, the archaeological exhibitions etc.)

Since 200 the BAA implemented or partnered to several projects
2000 - "Harmanlyiska cheshma - risk excavation created by student team from Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" (Open Society Foundation).
2001 - "Localization and examination of the archaeological monuments on the ter-ritory of Vratsa district" (Open Society Foundation).

2001 - Exhibition "Copies of the Antique pottery examples, discovered in Roman funeral tumulus near town of Harmanly, September 7 - 16, Gallery of foreign arts Sofia (Open Society Foundation). Project manager and author of an educational brochure "What are you know about … Mounts" (Sofia, 2001)
2003 - "International archaeological summer camp Mezdra 2003" (South - East European Youth Network).
2003 - "ARCHAEOLOGIA IUVENTA" - students scientific studies (Open society Foundation).

2004 - Exhibition "Archaeological excavations - Mezdra 2002-2003". Organizer of the exhibition and author of the popular science book "The Antique monuments in Mezdra district" (Mezdra 2004).
2004-2005 - Project "Excavations of the first Agriculture civilization in Bulgaria" (National fund of Culture, Ministry of Education and Science).
2007 - Creation of an Archaeological Thematic Park "Mezra-Kaleto" (in process of realization by Mezdra municipal administration).
